It is the injection of fat in various parts of the face and body to provide fullness. Cheeks, forehead, cheek-lip line, lips, chin tip, crooked areas on the hips and legs are examples of places where this application is made.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Where is Fat Taken from Fat Injection?<\/h2>\n<\/div>

This is the reason why fat injection is superior to filling materials containing hyaluronic acid. The extent to which the fat cells will remain alive depends on the surgical material used, the way the fat is taken and given, and the transfer of fats through various processes.<\/p>\n

An average of 40% of the transferred fats can persist after 6 months. Therefore, in some cases, it may be necessary to repeat the fat injection. The chances of success are higher in inactive areas. For example, while fat injection in the cheek area is more successful, it can be less successful inactive areas such as the legs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The most common area of fat injection is the face.<\/p>\n

Some face can be given to thicken the lips, eliminate deep wrinkles by filling the mouth, plump the cheekbones, and even enlarge the lower jaw a little.<\/p>\n

Fat injection can even be made before the subsequent surgical intervention for rehearsal purposes. For example, the result that can be obtained with fat injection is rehearsed beforehand in patients with very uncertain cheekbones. If the result is found satisfactory, as the fats will melt a little after a while, an implant is applied to the area as a permanent solution to provide the same fullness.<\/p>\n

The fat injection takes approximately 30-60 minutes. Although it is performed under local anesthesia, it is beneficial to do it in the operating room environment. What are the Problems May Occur During the Fat Injection?<\/h2>\n<\/div>

  • Although the possibility of occurrence is low with the measures taken, the risk of infection that can be seen in every surgical procedure is also present in fat injection. Signs of infection are redness in the procedure area, increase in pain, hypersensitivity, and increase in body temperature. The infection can be treated with the use of appropriate antibiotics.<\/li>\n
  • Some of the fat melts after a certain period of time, so there is a loss of fullness. Then the process can be repeated. Since the fats are homogeneously distributed, the melting in the fats becomes homogeneous. Asymmetry formation is very rare.<\/li>\n
  • Drowsiness or excessive sensitivity in the application area is a problem that we may encounter rarely. Softening the area with massages can help the sensation recover more quickly.<\/li>\n
  • In very superficial fat injections, a color change may occur in the process area. This situation is extremely difficult to correct. For this reason, repetitive and very close injections to the surface should be avoided.<\/li>\n
  • Although it is extremely rare, if excessive fat is given to a certain point and the fat cannot be injected properly, it may be the case that the fat turns into palpable masses in groups. This is more common in areas where the skin is very thin, such as the eyelid. The treatment is a massage and the use of drugs that reduce tissue edema.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
